A Timeless, Intentional Way to Tell Your Wedding Story
Wedding photography should do more than document a timeline. It should preserve how the day felt—with artistry, restraint, and intention. My documentary and editorial wedding photography approach blends natural storytelling with refined composition, resulting in images that feel both honest and elevated.
This guide explains what documentary and editorial wedding photography is, how the two styles work together, and why this approach creates timeless wedding images.
What Is Documentary Wedding Photography?
(Natural, Unscripted, and Emotion-Driven)
Documentary wedding photography focuses on real moments as they unfold. I observe first, anticipating emotion and movement rather than directing it. This approach allows me to capture connection, atmosphere, and truth—without interruption.
Documentary wedding photography preserves:
Genuine emotion and interaction
Unposed moments between people
The rhythm and energy of the day
Meaningful details as they naturally appear
What Is Editorial Wedding Photography?
(Refined, Intentional, and Art-Driven)
Editorial wedding photography brings structure and artistry into the story. I use light, composition, and subtle guidance to create portraits and scenes that feel polished, elevated, and timeless—never stiff or over-posed.
Editorial photography adds:
Clean composition and balance
Thoughtful posing with natural ease
Art-forward imagery worthy of print
Visual cohesion throughout the gallery
Why I Combine Documentary and Editorial Wedding Photography
Weddings hold both movement and stillness. I blend documentary and editorial wedding photography to honor both.
Documentary photography captures the in-between—the laughter, tears, glances, and unscripted moments. Editorial photography shapes portraits and key moments with intention and refinement. Together, they create a wedding gallery that feels complete.
This combined approach ensures:
Natural moments remain untouched
Portraits feel elevated and timeless
The full story flows visually
Images age beautifully over time
What This Approach Feels Like on Your Wedding Day
My presence remains calm and unobtrusive. I step in when guidance elevates the moment and step back when the moment speaks for itself. Couples often tell me they felt fully present on their wedding day, trusting that everything meaningful was being preserved.
This approach allows you to:
Stay emotionally present
Feel confident in front of the camera
Experience your day naturally
Receive a gallery that feels intentional, not rushed
Who This Photography Style Is For
This documentary and editorial wedding photography approach serves couples who:
Value timeless over trendy
Appreciate thoughtful composition
Want images that feel honest and elevated
Care about legacy and storytelling
It’s for couples who want their wedding photographs to feel just as meaningful decades from now.
A Wedding Story Told with Intention
This approach allows me to photograph weddings with restraint, awareness, and artistry. I don’t over-direct, and I don’t disappear. I remain present—watching, guiding, and preserving moments as they naturally unfold.
Because your wedding day deserves to be remembered as it truly was: beautiful, emotional, and deeply personal.

Growing up my mom was always well dressed and documented. There was one image, framed, where her hair was in a soft curly afro, dark lipstick, and a subtle smile. She was breathtaking. In the portrait, she wore a one shouldered velvet top, or dress-I couldn’t tell because it was taken through the window of a vintage car. I moved to the US at 18 and returned home on year to find that it was no longer there! One of my biggest wishes was that I had it. While it was my favorite-I have many others to remind me of the beauty she carries and the style she values.
As a little girl, I would flip through our albums looking at her life and mine. Taking portraits on disposable cameras or going to the studio near our home in Trinidad for Christmas and special occasions. Those are days I cherish so dearly and know the weight of it’s value. I saw my parents work hard and wanted to be what they were, but I became what they modeled for me—a preserver of life’s moments, with an appreciation for timeless, elegant style and an advocate for those who need compassion. Post college, I searched for who I was meant to be as an artist and it was undeniable—when I show up I add beauty to the world and started my company to replicate that with each person and moment I am trusted to capture/photograph.
My clients experience the best of me, with care and rave about my professionalism/expertise and passion, as someone who “knows she’s not just clicking a button….but anchoring memories to photographs that will become artwork, gifts, treasures that capture our moments forever.” They “feel that on the other side of the camera throughout the whole process.”
