Intimate Wedding Ideas: Luxury Wedding Details
This blog series is dedicated to luxury wedding details for your intimate wedding. The first blog featured the charm of small weddings and its appeal with Amberly Events: Atlanta Wedding Planner, Designer and Florist. You can have a read here to get your feet wet and further fall in love with them.
Today, I want to highlight elevating wedding details by using antique pieces, ribbons and flowers. It’s incredibly attainable but does rely upon the creativity of your wedding photographer and your florist. I added antique pieces to my styling kit so that I can create a luxurious, fine art appeal to my bride’s details.
A myth I want to bust is that having a small wedding eliminates luxury. People tend to think small means cheap and my friend it simply doesn’t equate. Small means intentional. Small allows you to use your budget on the things you love and cherish for those you chose to celebrate with you.
In my opinion, antiques are the secret to creating the elevated look we all see and love. It’s the foundation that the details are built on and around. I created my special set of antiques by visiting the local thrift store and of course I could not wait to curate and design them. Silver and brass are two commonly used antique pieces and depending on your wedding colors, the complimenting one should be used.
Partnering with the florist and planning to coordinate the day of helps the photographer to gather a few pieces to elevate the details. Placing them around or on the antiques would include your carefully selected florals and gives them another place to be used.
Ribbon is my favorite and it’s the first thing I used when I began styling wedding details. Silk and velvet ribbon are available in many colors and there is no shortage of vendors that carry them for purchase. Silk, velvet and hand-dyed are three types ribbon that the photographer and wedding florist use to elevate your wedding details. The types of ribbon I love to use are neutral in color or one matches your wedding. Like flowers on your cake, gems in your ring, I like to think it’s the finishing touch to the luxury details.
I hope this gives you some insight on how these three elements can elevate your wedding details. I love creating with them to make the most of everything you chose for your wedding day!
Cheering you on in this season,
