How to coordinate outfits for photo sessions

When planning and coordinating outfits for  photo sessions for one person or a group there is one principle that matters-choosing a main color and one or two complimentary colors with minimal print.

As spring  and spring sessions approach, I thought it would be a great time to give you some help in coordinating some outfits. During the Spring we love pastels and colors that compliment the season but as a personal stylist I love the idea of giving you colors that work best for you and your skin tone so that you have that extra pop in your undertones! Even if it is seasonal.

You can learn about it in two ways:

  1. Using my free resource
  2. My Style Course that fully breaks down your style

Popular colors for the spring

Even thought the most popular colors for the spring are soft pinks, yellows, light muted blues, lavender + soft greens, what works best for you? If you’re a neutral girl like me with warm skin tones, you’ll love a beige monochromatic look too.  In my style course I break down what works best for your skin tone but for today’s blog I wanted to give you a look into incorporating those same principles into your wardrobe for spring sessions and your everyday style.

Skin tones

I wholeheartedly believe in creating style that looks and feels like you includes wearing colors that work for you. I also believe in using colors that are timeless and look best in photos. Here are a few examples of how to coordinate outfits for spring sessions using that principle.

For cool skin tones in the spring, I recommend:

  • Salmon + beige
  • Muted blue + dark blue
    • a monochromatic look
  • Lavender + light grey

For warm skin tones in the spring, I recommend:

  • Medium pink, beige + cognac brown
  • All beige with varying tones
    • a monochromatic look
  • Muted yellow, gold + grey
